Into Smoky Mountain and Day #3

Hello everyone:) Thank you for your patience, here is Day 3 of my Visiting Tennessee Series! Here is a post from Saturday, July 30 2016:)

So those of you read my previous post, knew that today was the day that my family and I were going to leave the hotel at 6 am, reach Cades Cove in Smoky Mountain by 7, and bike the 11 mile trail until 10. Every Saturday morning, they close off the trail to cars and open it specifically for bikers and hikers.

But, us being the sleep deprived, coffee-obsessed family that we are, we woke up at 9 (and maybe even after that) to go into Smoky Mountain that day. After eating breakfast at McDonalds (their hash browns are amazing!) we made our way into the national park.

Even though Smoky Mountain wasn’t anything like Yellowstone or the Redwood Forests, it was still a nice quiet day of driving around and enjoying scenery.

My friend said that when she went to Gatlinburg, a bear had climbed into her dumpster… whereas the most “wildlife” we saw were some Elk. Seriously though, who cares about elk? They’re basically like deer and I see a tons of deer outside our house eating away our flowers, so yeah, I hate deer.

After a long day, we headed back into town and went on the SkyLift to look over Gatlinburg and the rest of Tennessee. Fun Fact, tons of people in Gatlinburg get married on the SkyLift … so you know, it you want an inexpensive and scenic wedding, there you go 😀

We ordered dominoes for dinner once again and it was actually quite fun 🙂

I hope you all enjoyed the third post of the Visiting Tennessee Series:)

Hey, I loved the posts on your Smoky Mountain trip. However I have some much better food options than the ones you visited. Try some of the local places and I assure you, McDonald’s and Domino’s won’t even register in your thought process if you return. Check out my blog for some quality southern restaurants in Gatlinburg.

Hahahaha the days that we went we had a certain diet regimen, so we couldn’t eat shrimp or any of the local foods! BAut thank you!

I didn’t mean to sound rude. I appreciate you clarifying your situation. I just think the food there is just too good to miss 🙂

  3. THAT IS A TERRIFYING WAY TO GET MARRIED.

I’ll have to ask my mom to dig up that bear picture sometime 🙂

Trust me, I agree, it just sounds.. so stupid. But whatever, to each one’s own. And I guess they can tell their kids that “Hey, I got married 1000 feet suspended in air”
