“No One’s 29” — except that I am :)

To quote one of my new favorite movies, Anyone But You, which I’ve seen 3 times in as many weeks because I’m a sucker for two Shakespeare plays, Much Ado about Nothing and Macbeth, and this is Much Ado about Nothing – the main character says he’s 29, and everyone else’s reaction to him goes “come on, no one’s 29.”

If I could make my birthday a national (and international) holiday then I 100% would! I also love leap years because then I don’t have to share my birthday with all the people born the 29 who have to adopt my day as their own (love y’all but back off)

Honestly there’s not much to say in this post because I already did my birthday post for the year, but here’s hoping 29 is an amazing year and I hope it’s full of joy, happiness, good memories, love, peace, calmness, adventures, and success. That might be a lot to put into just one year but hey, end of an Era. Plus 29 is a good age I think.

Real talk, I’m really excited for this upcoming year. I was showered with so much love today and I wish I could eloquently express my gratitude toward all the surprises I got today – a surprise birthday party, beautiful gifts (the most thoughtful and also best-tasting champagne ever), lots of coffee, the cutest cards, flowers, and so many kind people who took the time to make my day special.

Not going to lie, the beginning of my birthday week was really tough. I billed an insane amount of hours on Monday and was running on such little sleep that it was probably the hardest and worst day of 2024 so far, and I couldn’t help but wonder “is this a foreshadowing event for the upcoming year?” but knock on wood, things turned around!

I’m currently sitting in my office wearing a “it’s my birthday” sash and a birthday tiara full from my favorite Berry Chantilly cake and drinking this free butterbeer Frappuccino I got from Starbucks as my free drink. I also am about to head home from work (the earliest I’ve left in a while) and spend the evening with my family hehe.

But mostly, I want to thank all of the sweet people in my life who helped make this day special, from your midnight wishes, to your enthusiastically listening to me talk about my birthday all day, to the sweet gifts, desserts, reminders to other people to wish me hehe, time+energy, and friendship. This year’s birthday has been truly amazing and I’m deeply humbled and appreciative.

If anyone has any advice for 29, please share away because I’d love to hear it 🙂

Until next time!
