I scream for Ice Cream!

Hello lovelies 🙂

So for those of you who read about my visit to the Opera with my University President, will be interested to know that once again I had the honor of visiting his house.

Seriously, I see the President more than I see some of my professors … that was a total exaggeration, I always go to class 😛

His assistant had emailed out an invitation, that said the first 250 people to RSVP to a google form will be invited for an Ice Cream Social with drinks, and yours truly once again was super enthusiastic and probably was one of the first 10 people to fill out this form. No joke, I didn’t even finish reading it, all I read was “You’re invited to an ice cream social at University House with President and Mrs. Loh on-” and I immediately scrolled down and clicked the link, and only after I established my attendance, then I mass texted it to my friends.. hehe. A little insight on life: take care of yourself first. It’s like how in airplanes, if you don’t have that oxygen mask on, how can you help anyone else with it?

And guess what!

Invitation

So after confirming my attendance, I got all dolled up with my friend Sayli (shoutout to her!) and we walked on over to the President’s house. We were in the dining room, patio, and garden area, with 248 people that none of us have ever seen before, and who have never seen me. However, I think some of the staff remembered me from the week before, probably like “wow this girl is here again? Doesn’t she have anything else to do?” To be honest, not really 😀

Sadly, President Loh didn’t remember me, but it’s fine because I recovered from the awkward moment by being my charming witty self 😉

President Loh: while looking at my nametag “Ahh Hello Sandhya!”

Me: Hi President Loh!!

President Loh: So what year are you?

Me: I’m a junior Economics major.. Do you remember, I attended the opera with you last week!

President Loh: Ahhh that’s right! (I don’t think he actually remembered, but I don’t blame him, UMD has over 30000 undergraduate students)

Me: Yeah, I’m here again.. I guess I’m just making it a habit of visiting your house

President Loh: Hahahah well you’re welcome anytime!

Well Mr. President, I will definitely take you up on that. Someday I’m going to just walk up and knock on your door and bring coffee and demand another chocolate mousse because those were absolutely heavenly, and we shall talk about life and law school, and then you’ll probably regret saying that I’m welcome anytime, mwahahaha

After he walked away, I stood around a high top table, the ones that you usually see at pubs and bars, and slowly ate my ice cream. 3 scoops of vanilla with caramel and chocolate sauce drizzled on top, with sprinkles to add some color and exactly 3 maraschino cherries. Standing there talking with Sayli about our plans for that weekend and how beautiful his house is, I realized that this is exactly what a good life should be like.

Just hanging out, eating ice cream on a Friday afternoon, enjoying the nice weather.

Those two hours at the President’s house I forgot all about my stressful morning with a quiz, a test, and a paper due, I forgot about my internship search, and my LSAT studying, and I just soaked in the sun. It was a great end of the week 🙂

I hope all of the rest of you are enjoying the same beautiful weather that I am, and I would love to hear about your stressfree moments too!

xoxo

  2. That sounds completely fabulous! “college ice cream social” is a phrase that sounds frankly, most of the time, completely horrific, but DAMN, this sounded fancy. Also that instagram pic is totally worth framing. This will be where your career as a famous socialite was born. B)

I think when I become famous I’m going to send it into Forbes with the caption “Ms Sandhya is sharing her insight of the legal aspect of the corporate world with her alma mater”
