2 days left of being 22

There are two days left of my “22s,” and I gotta tell you all, it’s been a total roller coaster, a fun one though, the kind where you feel anxious going up the ride, but going down you feel like you could fly. And lately I’ve constantly been in that “post-movie watching” mood, where you feel like you can save the world, and beat up the bad guys, drive a getaway car, fall in love, and live a good life, type of feeling. Hence me and the giant balloons in the picture above!

Of course I can never drive a getaway car because although I’m an alright driver, I’m awful (like THE WORST) at parking. Literally just came back from trying to practice parking, it ended horribly. I’m definitely not going to fulfill that “I want to get my license before I turn 23” thing because other cars in the lot were dreading me. Ugh. There’s this episode of Phineas and Ferb, where Candace is awful at parallel parking, and that entire scene, is me.

Candace On The Phone With Stacy: Hello, despair speaking … because of a little thing called PARALLEL PARKING. See yesterday Dad was teaching me how to drive

*Flashback*

Dad: Okay Candace, all you have to do is park between this plastic trashcan and that plastic trashcan. (For those of you who have not seen this episode, the trashcans are like, 3 car lengths apart.)

Candace: Soo.. I put it in reverse, *and then she hits the back trashcan, then the front one, then the back one, then the front one and is screaming throughout the entire process*

Candace On The Phone With Stacy: And then Dad says my parallel parking NEEDS A LITTLE WORK. IT MEANS ILL NEVER GET MY DRIVERS LICENSE. I’M SUCH A LOSER.

And that is me, right now.

So instead of talking about my failure to drive and patheticness of not having a license even though everyone my age has their license and I’m the only lame one who can’t even park between two cars, I’m going to talk about the fact that I’m almost 23 (AND STILL DON’T HAVE A LICENSE UGH. Okay, moving on)

So naturally, since I only have a few days left of being 22, I decided to blast “22” by Taylor Swift, because well, it’ll never apply to me again :O And while listening to it for the 37th time, I realized that I should be doing all of the stuff that she’s doing in the song! So naturally I dragged Katie into my shenanigans because in the music video Taylor is doing all the crazy stuff with her friends! So this blog post is dedicated to my last days of being 22 and living the TSwift life – feel free to sing along with the words

So the main two stanzas of the song are the following:

It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters
And make fun of our exes, uh uh uh uh
It feels like a perfect night for breakfast at midnight
To fall in love with strangers uh uh uh uh
Yeah We’re happy free confused and lonely at the same time
It’s miserable and magical oh yeah
Tonight’s the night when we forget about the deadlines, it’s time uh oh

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 22
Everything will be alright, if you keep me next to you
You don’t know about me, but I bet you want to
Everything will be alright, if we just keep dancing like we’re 22, 22

So here we go!

It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters

This was by far the easiest one, the weather has been so weird lately that dressing up in shorts with tights like I’m in the 90s was my first go-to outfit, but I decided to change and go the iconic millennial hipster route, with a tank top, leggings, and the plaid shirt combo.

And make fun of our exes, uh uh uh uh

This was super easy too, it was less of “making fun of our exes,” and more laughing fits and second-hand embarrassment

It feels like a perfect night for breakfast at midnight

So for this one, Katie and I decided to make omelets, and I also had Special K Cereal 🙂

To fall in love with strangers uh uh uh uh

Alright I have no photographic evidence of this, but the other day Katie and I went to Nandos and there was a guy, probably 24 or 25, who was walking a tiny Husky. I swear we had a connection, like, do you ever see someone and suddenly imagine your whole life together? He’s probably studying to be a doctor, and in 5 years we can walk his dog together with him being a rich doctor and me being a kickass lawyer and we’ll have a super awesome penthouse and live happily! … Of course I didn’t say two words to this guy, but his dog kept coming over to me and Katie so you know, he knows we exist.

We’re happy free confused and lonely at the same time. It’s miserable and magical oh yeah

Everyday.

Tonight’s the night when we forget about the deadlines, it’s time uh oh

Once again, every day.

Everything will be alright, if we just keep dancing like we’re 22, 22

Dancing? Check. Always.

So Idk, I guess I’m there, and ready for 23!

I saw a post by The Sandy Lion the other day: Last year, I broke some rules, learned tons & did what I liked. This year, I’m going to break ALL the rules, keep learning and do only what I love. Thankful for another lap and another chapter in my book. happy birthday to me. #grateful

And I think I’m going to live by that!

Here’s to turning 23! … As for my license, all I need is my little brother to build me a Monster Truck called the Sandhya Crusher so I can gain my confidence back and drive perfectly. Oh well, someday

A huge birthday shout-out to Vy!! Happy 23rd birthday girl! I hope you had an amazing time at brunch and I hope you have a very safe trip to the West Coast tomorrow! I can’t wait to celebrate with you once you get back! Thanks for being my almost birthday buddy since we were 12!!
